The Regenerative Project reimagines how a home can live in harmony with nature and culture. Rooted in the philosophies of Sanga Mandala and Tri Hita Karana, it seeks balance between humanity, environment, and spirit. Built entirely without cement, the house merges Balinese umpak foundations with the Japanese Ishibadate technique. All materials were reclaimed—century-old teak from a Javanese limasan house, ulin wood from jetty posts, and reused roof tiles—preserving stories of the past within a modern context. The design integrates cross-ventilation, natural lighting, and large openings that dissolve boundaries between inside and out, celebrating tropical living. Industrial steel detailing meets traditional craftsmanship, expressing both strength and sensitivity. Self-sufficiency defines the project: a permaculture garden, solar energy, and water recycling systems allow the house to operate as a living ecosystem. “Blooming While Embracing the Roots” captures its spirit—a sustainable dwelling that honors cultural wisdom while evolving toward the future.
