The Peter Dittmar Artspace was conceived as an extension of the artist–client’s own creative vision—a place where art can breathe, engage, and unfold. Serving as both a new destination and a continuation of the existing gallery, it guides visitors through a fluid spatial journey that connects art, architecture, and experience.
The design embraces simplicity and purpose. A modern structure stands in contrast to its traditional surroundings, creating harmony through proportion and restraint. Cement finishes allow the building to blend softly with its context, while vertical concrete louvres establish a calm architectural rhythm.
Functionally, the louvres provide privacy, support passive cooling, and shape the flow of natural light. At sunrise and sunset, they cast shifting shadows that animate the corridors and entrance. The result is an understated yet evocative space—one that holds art without competing with it, allowing light and stillness to become part of the exhibition itself.
